CV NEWS FEED // A 90-page collection of material written by a woman who murdered six people at a Christian school in March 2023 was released on Tuesday by The Tennessee Star and its editor-in-chief Michael Patrick Leahy.
The Star reported that it legally obtained a journal – widely dubbed the shooter’s “manifesto” – “from a source familiar with the investigation” in June.
Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) officers recovered the journal from the shooter’s car “along with a spiral notebook, after her March 27, 2023 attack on the Covenant School, where she murdered three 9-year-old children and three adult staff members before she was killed by MNPD officers,” the Star added.
The publication clarified that it had “not obtained this spiral notebook, which is said to contain writings of her operational plan of attack.”
The 28-year-old woman had claimed to be a man and had referred to herself by a male name. Throughout the journal, she repeatedly identified herself using this moniker.

The Star noted:
Rather than an ideologically driven composition, the “manifesto” … is better understood as a collection of writings in which [the shooter] sporadically wrote her thoughts in the months and years preceding her devastating attack.
Per The Star, the collection of writings popularly referred to as a manifesto is “comprised of The Covenant Killer’s 2023 Journal, the spiral notebook found in her car, and the 20 journals written between 2007 and 2022 seized from her residence.”
Furthermore, the Star noted that the eventual killer drew an “octagonal symbol” multiple times throughout her 2023 journal.
The Star reported:
The octagonal symbol first appears on the journal’s cover. Within its pages, the distinctive shape next appears on the first page, opposite where the killer wrote, “Why does my brain not work right? Cause I was born wrong!!!”
[The] symbol appears throughout the journal, including in an undated entry apparently written in mid-March 2023, when the killer wrote about the attack she planned later that month.
“Soon I will leave this world! You [and] your friends will be just fine. Does it even matter if I am alive?” [She] later added the octagonal symbol, and above it wrote, “No regrets by the gun!!!”

In her collection of writings, the killer made multiple references to her “transgender” identity, including the claims that she was “nothing of the gender I was born of,” and was “the most unhappy boy alive.”
“I will be of no use of love for any girl if I don’t have what they need: Boy’s body/male gender,” the shooter also claimed in her “manifesto.”
Over the almost one and a half years since the March 2023 shooting, multiple critics have questioned why the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has not released the “manifesto” to the public.
In a Tuesday report, The Daily Wire investigative reporter Luke Rosiak stated: “Nothing in the nearly 100-page journal appears to justify the FBI’s claim that it was withholding it in the name of public safety.”
Rosiak continued:
Nashville City Council member Courtney Johnson told The New York Post that the FBI said the manifesto couldn’t be released because it “was a blueprint on total destruction, and it was so, so detailed at the level of what she had planned… That document in the wrong person’s hands would be astronomically dangerous.”
Portions of the “manifesto” were previously leaked to the press in June of this year and in November of last year.
In November 2023, after a portion of the shooter’s writings were leaked, CatholicVote reported that she “deliberately targeted The Covenant School, which is affiliated with the Presbyterian Church in America.”

CatholicVote continued:
Three of her victims were nine-year-old students and three were school staff members in their 60s.
“DEATH DAY,” the killer wrote in large capital letters at the top of her diary next to a hand-drawn image gun shooting at a target.
…
“Can’t believe I’m doing this, but I’m ready,” she added. “I hope my victims aren’t.”
The murderess wrote that she was hoping for a “high death count” and that she was “ready to die.” She signed the entry with a male name she used to refer to herself after beginning to identify as “transgender.”
In the previously leaked portion of the “manifesto,” the shooter used the anti-white racial epithet “cracker” to refer to her eventual victims.
As CatholicVote pointed out: “The killer was white and one of her victims was black.”
