CV NEWS FEED // According to a new report from the Charlotte Lozier Institute (CLI), pregnancy resource centers (PRCs) provided a vast number of goods and services to women and their babies in the year Roe v. Wade was overturned.
“In 2022, pregnancy centers met with clients over 16 million times, both in person and virtually, with an estimated total service value of at least $358 million annually,” stated the CLI on Friday, the day the report was released.
“Pregnancy centers provided services to almost 975,000 new clients,” the CLI continued. These services provided to women at no cost included “pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, parenting education programs, baby diapers, wipes, formula, [and] outfits.”
Furthermore, the CLI’s report indicated that “of the over 16 million client sessions that took place” at PRCs, “97% self-reported a positive experience.”
It also noted that according to a poll commissioned by the Knights of Columbus earlier this year, “91% of Americans support pregnancy centers.”

“In the Dobbs era, the demands upon pregnancy help centers have increased daily,” said CLI President Chuck Donovan.
“Many states are responding with new funds and new policies to support the centers’ work. At the same time, new attacks are launched daily by violent radicals and by politicians who should know better,” Donovan continued.
“Some would find these challenges daunting, but as our report shows, pregnancy help center leaders see in this situation new opportunities to serve generously with love and compassion for those in need,” he added.

The new data came less than two months after over a dozen Democratic state attorneys general penned a letter claiming that PRCs “[delay] pregnant people [sic] from accessing critical reproductive healthcare.”
Back in August, Democratic Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro defunded a PRC network which the state had supported for over three decades.
The CLI describes itself as “the research arm of SBA Pro-Life America and America’s premier scientific institute on life issues.”
