CV NEWS FEED // Harley-Davidson recently issued a statement backpedaling on its “woke” policies after a widespread backlash from customers.
“Another win for our movement,” wrote conservative commentator and filmmaker Robby Starbuck in an X (formerly Twitter) post Monday afternoon.
He specified that the motorcycle giant recently released a statement in which they promised:
• No more DEI [diversity, equity, and inclusion] functions
• No more supplier diversity spend goals
• They’ll no longer participate in [Human Rights Campaign] scoring
• Sponsorship activities are changing and will focus exclusively on motorcycling, first responders, active military and veterans
• No more woke trainings with socially motivated messaging inside of them
Harley-Davidson corporate can be sad all they want but our movement gets results.
Harley-Davidson wrote in its statement that it is
saddened by the negativity on social media over the last few weeks, designed to divide the Harley-Davidson community. As a Company, we take this issue very seriously, and it is our responsibility to respond with clarity, action and facts. Earlier this year, we initiated an internal stakeholder review to better align Company activities to the needs of both our business and community.
“This is only the beginning,” Starbuck wrote. “Normal people just want sanity back and I’m your megaphone.”
Starbuck had called out Harley-Davidson’s previous pro-DEI stance in a series of X posts last month.
“It’s time to expose Harley-Davidson,” he wrote on July 23. “[R]ecently on CEO Jochen Zeitz’s watch, they’ve gone totally woke.”

The filmmaker argued that the Harley brand is “out of alignment” with its customer base and even alleged that the corporation “seems to have forgotten who their core customers are,” CatholicVote reported at the time:
Starbuck provided evidence showing Harley-Davidson’s support of the “Equality Act,” which “would allow men into girl’s bathrooms, sports and locker-rooms.” The company also requires employees to take training courses on becoming “LGBTQ allies,” he reported.
…
The company has notably sponsored pro-LGBTQ events and organizations such as the Rainbow Rose Center, which hosts pride events. These events featured areas such as a “rage room” to “let off steam” and a children’s area for story-time with drag queens.
The organization is listed as a sponsor for the “Queer and Trans People of Color” (QTPOC) support group.

On Monday, one X user claimed that the recent moves by Harley-Davidson were still not enough:
Until they get rid of those woke executives, they’ll just rebrand this stuff. This letter has too much woke speak. Just like John Deere, they’re fence sitting. Look at the difference between Tractor Supply’s response vs. John Deere and Harley Davidson. Tractor Supply is making the changes. The other 2 are placating.
An X user agreed. “I don’t buy it. Let’s see some actions first.”
Other users called for the replacement of CEO Zeitz.
Also last month, Starbuck posted an X thread outlining several ways he believes agricultural equipment giant John Deere has “gone woke.”
CatholicVote reported:
He shared an eight-minute video exposing recent internal actions at the company, from diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) policies to anti-white and anti-Christian training sessions and the promotion of gender ideology among employees.
The video began with an overview of John Deere’s policy for pronoun usage in all formal methods of communication. The company also sponsored a pride event called “Capital City Pride, Little Rainbow Run,” for children as young as three years old, the video revealed.
