CV NEWS FEED // The Biden administration last week reportedly placed a hold on American-made ammunition that was to be shipped to Israel for its war against Hamas.
Axios reported Sunday that the move marked the first time since Hamas’ October 7 attack on Israel “that the U.S. has stopped a weapons shipment intended for the Israeli military.”
Per Israeli officials, the “incident raised serious concerns inside the Israeli government and sent officials scrambling to understand why the shipment was held,” Axios continued.
Axios added that Biden is also “facing sharp criticism among Americans who oppose his support of Israel.”
“The [Biden] administration in February asked Israel to provide assurances that U.S.-made weapons were being used by Israel Defense Forces in Gaza in accordance with international law. Israel provided a signed letter of assurances in March,” Axios reported.
Many of the president’s critics suggested that he ordered the hold to garner more support among voters who oppose Israel’s war.
Recent polls show that Biden is particularly struggling with younger voters – a demographic that is more likely to support pro-Palestine protests on college campuses.

Furthermore, some critics claim Biden’s decision to halt the ammunition shipment has revealed a double standard in how some people treat the current president vs. his 2024 opponent, former President Donald Trump.
“Let me confirm if I understand correctly,” a conservative Catholic political commentator wrote on X (formerly Twitter) Monday:
Democrats impeached Trump over the Ukraine hoax, accusing him of leveraging foreign aid to request a corruption probe into Biden.
Biden, fearing backlash from anti-war protesters, halts ammo shipments to Israel during an election year for purely political reasons.
How is this not a double standard?
