CV NEWS FEED // According to a new report, diagnosed cases of “gender dysphoria” have skyrocketed across the country, rising in 49 out of the 50 states.
“Gender dysphoria diagnoses rose in nearly every U.S. state between 2018 and 2022,” AXIOS reported Thursday, citing data from Definitive Healthcare.
AXIOS indicated that the only state where the diagnoses fell was fell “South Dakota, which last year became the sixth state to restrict gender-affirming care [sic] for minors.
“In fact, South Dakota saw a 23% decrease in gender dysphoria diagnoses, while every other state saw their diagnoses rise by at least 6%,” The Daily Wire noted.

“I will always stand up for the next generation of South Dakotans,” said Gov. Noem, as she assured voters that her governorship is “protecting kids from harmful, permanent medical procedures.”
“Virginia saw the steepest rise in gender dysphoria diagnoses at 274%,” The Daily Wire stated. “Indiana was next with a 247% rise, and Utah was third at 193%.”
“Hawaii had the lowest increase with a 6% rise, followed by Connecticut with a 10% rise,” The Daily Wire continued.
“This map is wild,” Rep. Dan Crenshaw, R-TX, wrote on X (formerly Twitter) Thursday.
“I’ve always observed that the increase in gender dysphoria cases isn’t a natural phenomenon, it’s a social phenomenon,” he went on:
It has become a bandwagon to jump on and a diagnostic catch-all for depression, anxiety, and other mental disorders.
This isn’t to say some people don’t actually have it, but it would be much rarer if it weren’t such a popular label for progressives to seek out and slap on any vulnerable patient.
“Gender dysphoria surged across the US since 2018, with states seeing a 100+% surge,” noted End Wokeness, a conservative X account with over two million followers. “Just don’t call it social contagion.”
To this, X owner Elon Musk appeared to agree, replying, “The woke mind virus.”
“Weird, it’s almost like there’s a direct correlation with all the propaganda being pushed on kids, and a rise in gender dysphoria diagnoses,” wrote California Senate candidate and anti-mask mandate advocate Michael Oxford.
The American Psychiatric Association defines gender dysphoria as “psychological distress that results from an incongruence between one’s sex assigned at birth and one’s gender identity.”

The number of gender surgeries nearly tripled in the U.S. from 2016 to 2019, according to an August analysis published in JAMA Network Open. In 2016, there were about 4,550 procedures, and that number spiked to around 13,000 in 2019.
Hundreds of teen girls in the U.S., some as young as 12, have gotten elective, gender-related double mastectomies to remove their healthy breasts over the last few years.
“An estimated 300,000 minors aged 13 to 17 identified as transgender as of 2022, and the number has only continued to rise,” The Daily Wire added.
