CV NEWS FEED // Former President Donald Trump this weekend announced that he plans to continue holding his signature massive outdoor rallies, days after his team reportedly agreed to a Secret Service recommendation that he stop holding outdoor events in light of the recent attempt on his life.
“I WILL CONTINUE TO DO OUTDOOR RALLIES, AND SECRET SERVICE HAS AGREED TO SUBSTANTIALLY STEP UP THEIR OPERATION,” Trump wrote on TRUTH Social Saturday morning. “THEY ARE VERY CAPABLE OF DOING SO. NO ONE CAN EVER BE ALLOWED TO STOP OR IMPEDE FREE SPEECH OR GATHERING!!!”
This past week, multiple sources reported that the Secret Service advised Trump to cease holding his famous rallies.
As CatholicVote noted on Wednesday, the “recommendation came sometime after a 20-year-old would-be assassin opened fire at Trump’s rally in Butler, Pennsylvania on July 13, injuring the former president and two others and killing retired fire chief Corey Comperatore.”
At the time, CatholicVote added that “Trump’s team has reportedly agreed” to the recommendation.

Again from CatholicVote’s Wednesday report:
NBC News indicated that according to two sources, the Trump campaign plans to abide by the recommendation and “stop holding outdoor rallies like the one where he was shot” in Butler.
The Washington Post noted that “[f]or upcoming events, Trump’s team is scouting indoor venues, such as basketball arenas and other large spaces where thousands of people can fit.”
Per a source close to the former president, Trump’s “campaign is not currently planning any large outdoor events,” The Washington Post added.
Many observers on social media called Trump courageous for defying the Secret Service recommendation and going back to holding his well-known massive outdoor rallies.
Longtime talk show host Piers Morgan wrote on X (formerly Twitter) Saturday: “Love Trump, loathe Trump, what nobody can deny is that he’s got balls of steel.”
“I wouldn’t be back doing outdoor rallies after someone shot me and came within a quarter inch of killing me,” Morgan added.
Journalist and political commentator Kyle Becker wrote that Trump’s decision to resume holding outdoor rallies was a show of “TRUE COURAGE in the face of adversity.”
Becker also referred to the fact that Trump plans to return to Butler – the very place where he was nearly assassinated – for a rally.
Trump made the announcement that he would have another rally in Butler in a TRUTH Social post on Friday.
“I WILL BE GOING BACK TO BUTLER, PENNSYLVANIA, FOR A BIG AND BEAUTIFUL RALLY, HONORING THE SOUL OF OUR BELOVED FIREFIGHTING HERO, COREY, AND THOSE BRAVE PATRIOTS INJURED TWO WEEKS AGO,” he wrote.
“WHAT A DAY IT WILL BE,” Trump added. “FIGHT, FIGHT, FIGHT! STAY TUNED FOR DETAILS.”
