CV NEWS FEED // President Donald Trump Monday announced he would sign three executive orders aimed at reducing left-wing political bias or ‘wokeism’ in the U.S. military.
The executive orders prohibited people from serving in the military while simultaneously identifying as “transgender,” banned programs teaching critical race theory (CRT) in the armed forces, and reinstated over 8,000 service members who were expelled from the military for declining COVID shots.
“To ensure that we have the most lethal fighting force in the world, we will get transgender ideology the hell out of our military, it’s going to be gone,” the president said during remarks delivered Monday evening at an annual retreat for House Republicans.
“In addition, we will stop our service members from being indoctrinated with radical left ideology such as [CRT],” Trump continued. “It’s already been halted, totally halted.”
“Finally,” he went on, “we will offer full reinstatement to any service member who was expelled from the armed services due to the COVID vaccine mandate. And we will restore them to their former rank with full pay.”
The New York Post reported Monday that the “Pentagon has spent more than $15 million on transgender medical [sic] for military personnel since Jan. 1, 2016 — though the practice was paused for a time during Trump’s first term.”
“The majority of those funds — about $11.5 million — were used for psychotherapy, while about $3.1 million went toward 243 gender reassignment surgeries,” the report specified.
Also per the Post, “Former Coast Guard Commandant Linda Fagan, who once called Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) an ‘operational imperative,’ was fired last week” by the Trump administration.
A separate Post report from Monday noted that Trump’s final order “will cover active-duty or reserve service members who were kicked out for not taking the COVID jab mandated by the Biden administration between 2021 and 2023.”
Newly confirmed Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth “made the same pledge during his confirmation hearings earlier this month, saying that he stood by the president’s promise that each discharged troop ‘will receive an apology, back pay and rank that they lost,’” the Post added.

During his comments at the House Republican retreat, Trump also announced that he is directing Hegseth to “immediately begin the construction of a state of the art iron dome missile defense shield which will be able to protect Americans.”
“You know, we protect other countries but we don’t protect ourselves,” the president added.
