CV NEWS FEED // The upcoming, sold-out Los Angeles Catholic Prayer Breakfast is expected to draw around 2,000 attendees, according to a September 11 report from Angelus News.
Fr. Mike Schmitz, host of the popular “The Bible in a Year” podcast, is set to give the keynote address for the 19th annual event, which will take place at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels on September 17.
The day will begin at 6:30 a.m. local time with a Rosary in the cathedral, followed by Mass celebrated by Archbishop José H. Gomez of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles at 7:00 a.m. A breakfast will follow at 8:00 a.m., during which Fr. Schmitz will share his address.
Fr. Schmitz shared with Angelus that he prepares for significant speaking events, like the prayer breakfast, by turning to prayer with the question, “What does God want this person/group to know or do?”
According to Angelus, Fr. Schmitz’s address will focus on the theme of “being a Catholic in today’s world.”
As CatholicVote previously reported, Fr. Schmitz is the creator of a recent animated short film “The Bible in 10 Minutes,” which quickly went viral and now has over 1.3 million views.
