CV NEWS FEED // Catholics in the Archdiocese of San Francisco will have the opportunity for one week to venerate a relic of St. Jude Thaddeus, which is currently touring the United States.
The relic, which consists of part of St. Jude’s arm, will arrive in San Mateo for veneration on June 14, then travel to Novato on June 15, San Francisco on June 20, and Redwood City on June 22, the Archdiocese reported.
In each of the four cities, the relic will visit one church, which will be open to the public for veneration for eight hours. At each location, a special Mass will be celebrated in St. Jude’s honor as well.
According to the relic’s website, St. Jude’s arm has been venerated in Rome for centuries. St. Jude is the patron saint of impossible causes.The Archbishop of San Francisco, Archbishop Salvatore J. Cordileone, responded on X to the announcement about the relic’s visit: “I hear miracles of healing are happening.”
The relic has been touring North America since September 2023, making scheduled stops in a final total of 100 cities.
