CV NEWS FEED // Pro-life Americans will face a “tyrannical dictatorship” under Vice President Kamala Harris if she is elected president, pro-life activists warn.
The Family Research Council’s 2024 Pray, Vote, Stand Summit hosted a panel discussion last week titled “Kamala Harris’ Attacks on Life and the Family.” The panel included several pro-lifers who have suffered for their witness to the sanctity of life under the Biden-Harris administration.
Citing the weaponization of federal agencies against pro-lifers, the panelists warned that a Harris-Walz administration would only continue the government targeting of pro-life groups, and further arrests and prosecutions should be expected.
One of the panelists was Mark Houck, who was arrested by the FBI two years ago at gunpoint at his house in front of his wife and small children for an incident at a Planned Parenthood facility in which he defended his young son from an employee who was harassing them.
Houck recounted to the panel that the FBI raided his house with “ten marked and unmarked units on my property all surrounding my house lined up to the road.” There were “five federal agents with M-16 guns pointed at me” with “heavily armored vests,” along with, “two battering rams, two SWAT at the back door,” and “20 to 25 federal agents and PA State Troopers,” Houck said.
Houck related that law enforcement insisted to his wife, “We’re taking him with or without a warrant.”
“That’s a sign of tyranny,” he warned. “They wake sleeping children in the middle of the night and arrest their father at gunpoint, that’s a tyrannical dictatorship.”
After 10 hours in federal custody “chained to a table,” the Catholic father of seven was finally released on his own recognizance. The move, he told the panel, was an acknowledgment that he was neither a “violent offender,” a “flight risk,” or a “threat to the community.”

“So why the heavy raid?” Houck asked. “Because they want to humiliate you, intimidate you, and instill fear in you, and make an example of you.”
“My Fourth Amendment rights [‘the right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects against unreasonable searches and seizures’] were violated the day [the FBI] came to my home,” Houck concluded. “With any new administration, if there’s going to be a change, we need to get rid of the current FBI director, and we need to get rid of the attorney general.”
Mary Szoch from Family Research Council led the panel discussion. She pointed to Houck’s treatment as an example of “what the Biden-Harris DOJ did and what we can expect a Harris DOJ to do should she be elected.”
“We know that it’s not just about the top of the ticket,” she insisted. “We know it’s about that person’s entire administration, and in the Biden-Harris administration, we saw the DOJ weaponized. We also saw the FDA remove safety regulations for the abortion drug mifepristone. We also saw the Biden-Harris DOJ say they wouldn’t enforce the Comstock Act, which prevents abortion-inducing drugs from being sent through the mail.”
Another panelist, Catherine Herring, described how she survived her husband’s attempt to poison her and her unborn baby with abortion pills, which she was able to reverse. Szoch noted that such situations were a result of “the Biden-Harris administration removing those safety regulations” on abortion pills, which can now be obtained by mail.
Janet Durig of the Capitol Hill Pregnancy Center recounted that shortly after the Dobbs decision, a pro-life banquet was interrupted by eight pro-abortion advocates who intruded on the event screaming profane messages such as “blood on your hands” as she attempted to speak.

Durig warned that if “the right person doesn’t get into office,” pro-lifers would only see hostility and violence against them “escalate.”
As CatholicVote has tracked, since May 2022, pregnancy resource centers — which provide free medical and financial support to pregnant and new mothers — have been victimized by arson and firebombing, smashed windows, graffiti with threatening messages, destruction of signage, gluing of locks to prevent staff from entering, keying of staff members’ cars, and other acts of violence and vandalism.
