CV NEWS FEED // Cornerstone Christian Academy (CCA) in Loudoun County, VA, has only been open for a week, yet it already boasts an enrollment of over 500 students.
The new school’s official website states that it “offers education from a Biblical worldview, with a focus on supporting families and helping students discover and develop their unique callings.”
This education, the school elaborates, is “classically-influenced, and founded upon and permeated by the Word of God.”
Also, on the CCA website, Head of School Dr. Sam Botta states: “We believe each child is a treasure given to parents, having been fearfully and wonderfully made by God (Psalm 139:14).”
“At CCA, we are committed to coming alongside families in helping our students explore and discover the unique gifts, passions, and dreams that God has placed deep within them,” Botta adds.
Speaking with FOX News, Botta called the surprisingly high enrollment numbers at the rural Christian school “just incredible,” adding that “there was excitement from the very beginning.”
The 2023-24 school year is the first ever for the CCA, which was founded as a ministry of Cornerstone Chapel, an associated evangelical Christian church.

Cornerstone Chapel Pastor Gary Hamrick announced the K-8 Christian school last February as an alternative for parents who wanted something other than a public school education for their children. Over 500 students are already enrolled at CCA, and parents and teachers explained why so many families are flocking to the new campus in Middleburg, Va., which is commonly known as the nation’s “Horse and Hunt Capital” for its foxhunting and steeplechases.
Hamrick has prayed with “Cabinet Secretaries, Supreme Court Justices, members of Congress, and the Israeli Ambassador.” He is also a member of the Advisory Board for The Museum of the Bible in Washington D.C., serves as the Chief Chaplain for the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office, and works as a nationally syndicated radio host.
As Head of the newly-minted school, Botta affirmed his support for parents’ rights. “They’re the primary educators of their children,” Botta said of parents. “We just come alongside them. We’re just here to support them.”
Jennifer Paranzino, one of the many parents who chose to move their kids to CCA, said she was glad to be “able to come together with a group of like-minded families that want to raise their children in a way that it’s a little bit sometimes counter culture.”
Paranzino added: “The biggest thing I find as a parent so refreshing is that this school… their intention is really to partner with parents. They really do view parents as equal teachers.”
Loudoun County Public Schools have frequently been in the news over the past few years. In 2021, Daily Wire investigative journalist Luke Rosiak reported that the school district covered up the rape of a 15-year-old female student in the girls’ bathroom by a male student who wore a skirt.
The story prompted much scrutiny of the pro-“trans” policies in place in the county’s public schools.
Botta remarked on these recent developments, again speaking with FOX News:
So many things happening in… the public schools, what seems like an agenda. Things like boys and girls using one another’s bathrooms that they choose, the gender issue, where they can pick what they are.
Parents, not just Christian families, most families, and most parents recognize, honestly the foolishness of that. It’s almost incomprehensible that we can tell a boy that was a boy from birth, God-ordained as a boy, that we can tell them that they can choose to be a girl.
And so when that happened, these parents didn’t walk, they ran.
