CV NEWS FEED // Over the weekend CatholicVote reported that Ireland soundly rejected a government attempt to change the country’s definitions of “marriage” and “woman.” In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Catholic social media influencer Sachin Jose offered some insight into the Irish people’s historic defeat of “wokeism.” A key ingredient? Catholic public witness.
“Make Ireland a Catholic stronghold again,” wrote Jose in a post that featured a video of Catholic Irishmen kneeling and praying the rosary in public.
The faithful knelt in front of a statue of Our Lady of Fatima, held Divine Mercy images, and carried a large Crucifix.
“The rejection of wokeism by the Irish people, despite the strong campaign for a yes vote by mainstream Irish parties and NGOs, indicates a glimmer of hope,” Jose reported. “The monthly Rosary rallies organized by Catholic men across the country are yielding positive results!”
The post, which now has over half-a-million views, garnered commentary and support from many Catholics.
Discover Catholic Business applauded the public witness to the Catholic faith.
Other users shared their own videos of communal sessions of prayer that have taken place across Ireland.
“The street Rosaries are a very powerful weapon against satan and his infiltration of the Irish people,” one user stated. “All these Saturday gatherings are essential in the battle to reconvert Ireland.”
