Vote NO on 4!
- Amendment 4, titled “Amendment to Limit Government Interference with Abortion,” is a deceptive and extreme amendment.
- Even though everyone does not share the same view on abortion, Amendment 4 is so extreme that whether you are pro-life or pro-choice, you should vote NO.
- Amendment 4 removes parental consent for minors seeking an abortion.
- Amendment 4 allows any so-called “healthcare provider” to determine if an abortion is necessary to protect the mother’s health or if the baby she is carrying is viable. Under Florida law, “healthcare provider” isn’t limited to doctors, so even employees of abortion clinics who are not doctors would be able to approve late-term abortions.
- Unlike most ballot initiatives, NONE of Amendment 4’s operative terms, – like “government interference,” “viability,” “patient’s health,” or “healthcare provider” – are defined. This vague language will cause years of litigation and legal uncertainty.
- Amendment 4 was written to cement late-term abortions with no protections for the unborn baby into Florida’s constitution and remove existing parental consent requirements from Florida’s laws.
- No matter your position on abortion, you should vote “NO” on Amendment 4… it’s deceptive, and it’s too extreme for Florida.
A constitutional amendment to legalize abortion prior to fetal viability or whenever deemed “necessary” will be placed on the November 2024 ballot in Florida. This amendment is known as the “Amendment to Limit Government Interference with Abortion” and it would amend Article I of the Constitution of Florida.
Floridians Protecting Freedom, Planned Parenthood, and other radical abortion groups support this amendment. This constitutional amendment would prevent Florida legislators from passing other legislation that would prohibit or restrict abortion prior to fetal viability or when necessary to protect the patient’s health. The amendment needs 60% of votes to pass.
The Florida Conference of Catholic Bishops urges all Floridians of goodwill to stand against the legalization of late-term abortion and oppose the abortion amendment.

— Why should Catholics vote early? —
While the Left accumulates early votes over a month-long period prior to November 7th, Republicans’ strategic efforts are often confined to a mere 12 hours on Election Day. This must change. Increasing Catholic voter turnout during the early-voting period ensures that Catholic voters make it to the ballot box. This results in a net gain for candidates who represent Catholic values in our government. Voting early in-person provides the same experience as voting on election day, ensuring your vote counts towards saving our country.
“We’re building the largest Catholic voter mobilization program ever.”
