CV NEWS FEED // Undercover journalist James O’Keefe caught a high-ranking official in the Biden administration’s Department of Defense (DoD) saying on video that he supports open borders and repealing the Second Amendment.
Jason Beck serves as an Associate Director of Total Force Requirements & Sourcing Policy at the Office of Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin.
“Why not just have an open border?” Beck said in a video captured by O’Keefe. “[L]ike tear down the wall.”
“You know, just lots of that talk about like ‘border security,’” Beck told O’Keefe. Beck gestured to indicate quotation marks around the term “border security.”
“[Border security] doesn’t mean anything,” he continued. “It’s just like throwing money and people at a problem that doesn’t really exist. When has a terrorist ever come in?”
Per Beck’s LinkedIn page, the senior Pentagon official has held his current position for six years, since the beginning of 2018. Beck’s LinkedIn page also features a “pride” flag banner and the pronouns “he/him” in parentheses.
Earlier this week, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Director Christopher Wray told a Senate panel: “We have had dangerous individuals entering the United States.”
“We are seeing a wide array of very dangerous threats that emanate from the border,” Wray emphasized. He noted that the “FBI alone seized enough fentanyl in the last two years to kill 270 million people.”
Wray also stated that he was aware of a smuggling network at the border that had ties to the terrorist group ISIS, which he said the FBI was “very concerned about.”
Shortly after Wray’s testimony, Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw expressed similar concerns.
“I’ve actually been in law enforcement for 52 years. This is the worst I’ve seen it,” Bradshaw said:
I watched a surveillance video that was taken down in Texas of 10 guys, military-aged, dressed in camouflage, backpack, they had carpet on their shoes so they didn’t leave footprints, in a military formation coming into the country. What do you think they’re here for? They’re not here to play the lotto. They’re going to do bad things.

In addition to Beck’s comments on immigration, he also shared his thoughts on violence and gun rights with O’Keefe.
The DoD employee stated that he would “like to do some work on the state’s monopoly on violence.” He espoused “the idea that the state, meaning the country, is the only sort of legitimate purveyor of violence enforcement or force.”
“We the government are the only ones with guns,” he said.
When the topic of the Second Amendment came up, Beck said “I think we should repeal it and take [guns] all away.” He suggested mobilizing the National Guard to confiscate firearms from citizens.
During his interview with the undercover journalist, Beck also indicated support for packing the Supreme Court.
O’Keefe explained Beck’s role at the Pentagon in a post on X (formerly Twitter) Wednesday:
Jason Beck works in Total Force Requirements & Sourcing Policy in the Office of [Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin]. This office oversees the [DoD] and acts as the principal defense policy maker and adviser to the President of the United States.
Beck says he helps “writes answers for testimony” of “the department’s senior leadership – basically they go over to the Hill for hearings on the department’s posture.”
