CV NEWS FEED // To celebrate Divine Mercy Sunday on April 7, EWTN will host a preview show featuring testimonies and talks from famous athletes and personalities who live their Catholic faith seriously, as well as livestreamed Mass celebrated by Archbishop Timothy Broglio.
EWTN reported that its “Divine Mercy Sunday’s Preview Show” will include Catholics like former NFL quarterback Elvis Grbac, NFL player and assistant NFL coach Ben Steele, film producer Jim Wahlberg, and voice soloist Ashley Nemeh.
The show will air live on April 7 at 12 p.m. Eastern Time from the National Shrine of Divine Mercy in Stockbridge, Massachusetts.
Jim Wahlberg, actor Mark Wahlberg’s brother, will give a talk called “A Boston Street Kid’s Story of Addiction and Redemption. In addition to producing films, including “Mother Teresa: No Greater Love,” Wahlberg also serves as the executive director of the Mark Wahlberg Youth Foundation, which assists inner-city youth.
Grbac, who formerly played for the San Francisco 49ers, Kansas City Chiefs, and Baltimore Ravens, will speak on why “The Father’s Love Should be Our Love.” Steele, who has played for six NFL teams and is now the assistant coach for the Arizona Cardinals, is dedicated to encouraging men to pray the Rosary and will give a talk on “Winning One Bead at a Time: Strengthening My Faith with the Rosary.”
Nemeh, a Catholic recording artist and songwriter, will perform on the program as well. EWTN reported that she has collaborated with several Grammy-winning producers and writers, and uses her vocal talents to honor the Blessed Mother.
To conclude the program, Archbishop Timothy Broglio of the Archdiocese for Military Services, USA, will celebrate Mass at 1 p.m. Eastern Time at the Shrine.
