CV NEWS FEED // Internal documents from the Biden administration’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) claimed that the country’s “Domestic Terrorism threat” mostly comes from Trump supporters.
The files also singled out people in the military and religious people as possible “terrorism” threats.
The documents were released Friday by America First Legal, a conservative legal group founded by former Trump administration official Stephen Miller.
The group noted it obtained the “internal files from the ‘Homeland Intelligence Experts Group’” via litigation with former Trump administration Director of National Intelligence (DNI) Richard Grenell “against the Biden DHS.”
America First Legal wrote on X (formerly Twitter) Friday: “The Brennan-Clapper intel group discussed how ‘most of the domestic terrorism threat now comes from supporters of the former president.’”
“There is a political backdrop to all of this,” the document alleged. “It is not like you want a political advantage, but people have attacked the government and its institutions for the last six years.”
John Brennan served as the Director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) during the Obama administration while James Clapper served as the DNI for most of Obama’s presidency.
Both were reported to be members of the DHS advisory committee that produced the documents.
Per America First Legal, the newly released batch of documents “exposes how the Biden Administration classifies someone as a person likely to commit ‘domestic violent extremist’ attacks, particularly those who support President Trump, are ‘in the military,’ or are ‘religious.’”
The DHS document stated: “If you ask researchers to dive into indicators of extremists and terrorism, they might indicate being in the military or religious.”
“This being identified as an indicator suggests that we should be more worried about this,” the document continued. “We need the space to talk about it honestly.”
America First Legal added:
Under the Brennan-Clapper committee’s approach to national security, when all else fails, DHS should use being “in the military” or “religious” to profile people and tag them as having “indicators of extremists and terrorism” as a pretext to allow DHS to spy on them.
Also per American First Legal, another group of DHS documents released on Thursday revealed the same committee suggested that “mothers and teachers” should “turn in their children or students to the federal government under the guise of ‘public health.’”
“Where DHS lacks capabilities and cannot convince mothers and teachers to report their own children, one contributor suggested that DHS should turn to corporate America as a resource,” America First Legal noted.
The documents obtained by the legal group show that a person, likely at the DHS, replied that they “can collect” the required information.
