Sen. Bob Casey (Left) shakes hands with President Joe Biden (Right)
CV NEWS FEED // A left-wing political action committee (PAC) reportedly funded by the brother of Sen. Bob Casey, D-PA, produced an ad telling Republican voters in a conservative part of Pennsylvania to “[s]tand strong with PRESIDENT TRUMP AGAINST MAIL IN VOTING!”
Critics have slammed the ad as deceptive “voter suppression” since the anti-Trump leftist PAC designed it in such a way that it would appear to be produced by a group supporting former President Donald Trump. A Trump lawyer has sent the organization a cease-and-desist letter, warning that the ad “may constitute both a criminal and civil conspiracy to injure the rights of President Trump’s supporters.”
Pennsylvania is a crucial battleground state with a high probability of deciding the winner of this year’s presidential election between Trump and President Joe Biden.
Casey also faces a competitive race in November as he runs for a fourth term. Political observers agree that he must win re-election for the Democrats to have any chance of retaining the Senate.
“Just saw a new ad here in Central PA from a left-wing PAC named Pennsylvania Values,” an X (formerly Twitter) user who supports Trump wrote Saturday.

“The spot tells ‘MAGA patriots’ that President Trump doesn’t want them to vote by mail (which is false),” the user continued. He stated that the ad is being run
because the left knows that if the GOP is successful at increasing GOP Mail In Voting in PA, which the GOP is working to achieve, then it will be much harder for left-leaning candidates to win contests in the state.
…
The makers of the ad are hoping that Trump supporters believe the ad was produced by fellow Trump backers, when the truth is that it was created by opponents of the 45th president.
Hours after the user’s initial post, Pennsylvania Republican and former U.S. Congressional candidate Sean Parnell posted a screenshot of the end of the ad.
The screenshot showed the message “Stand strong with PRESIDENT TRUMP AGAINST MAIL IN VOTING!” in large, mostly capital letters.
In significantly smaller print underneath, the text “PAID FOR PENNSYLVANIA VALUES, NOT AUTHORIZED BY ANY CANDIDATE OR CANDIDATE COMMITTEE” could be seen.
Parnell called the ad “brazen election interference and a direct response to what we are doing in Pennsylvania with mail-in ballots [and] Republican voter registration.”
“This is NOT how President Trump feels,” he added. “This is a lie. Timed deliberately with his rally in my home state of PA.”
CatholicVote Vice President Joshua Mercer replied to Parnell’s post Sunday: “Democrats actively discouraging voting?? But … but … ‘democracy.’”
Later on Sunday, National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) Communications Director Mike Berg posted to X research conducted into the true nature of Pennsylvania Values.
“Bob Casey’s brother funded this left-wing voter suppression group telling Republicans not to vote early,” Berg wrote.
In his post, Berg shared a screenshot showing that “PA Values” received $100,000 from Ross Feller Casey LLP – a personal injury law firm where Casey’s brother, Matt, serves as a founding partner.
Berg also posted an August 2023 New York Post report that stated: “Sen. Bob Casey’s political campaign has taken hundreds of thousands of dollars from his brother’s personal injury law firm over the past 15 years.”
The NRSC is currently supporting the candidacy of Casey’s Republican challenger David McCormick, whom the GOP nominated to face the three-term incumbent.
In a subsequent X post Tuesday, Berg stated that Trump’s presidential campaign “is now calling for an investigation into this Casey-tied voter suppression group.”
In the Tuesday cease-and-desist letter to the left-wing PAC’s Treasurer Maria Galdo, Trump campaign Counsel David Warrington wrote: “We are aware of your advertisement falsely claiming that President Trump has asked Pennsylvania voters not to vote by mail.”
“This advertisement may constitute both a criminal and civil conspiracy to injure the rights of President Trump’s supporters to cast their ballots in Pennsylvania,” Warrington continued:
Cease and desist broadcasting, or otherwise distributing via the internet or elsewhere, this false advertisement immediately and preserve all relevant documents in anticipation of likely litigation.
…
In addition to federal criminal law, your false advertisement also appears to violate the Klu Klux Klan Act, a law enacted to prevent Democrats associated with the KKK from attempting to intimidate Republican voters … On its face, your false advertisement appears to violate the Klu Klux Klan Act.

Over the past few days, multiple X users contrasted Pennsylvania Values’ ad with the case of Douglass Mackey.
Mackey, a conservative social media user, was sentenced to federal prison after he posted a satirical meme jokingly telling people to vote for Hillary Clinton via text.
Many leftists, including the Biden administration’s Department of Justice (DOJ), implied that the meme constituted a form of “voter suppression.” A federal judge eventually sided with Mackey months later.
Casey is a self-professed Catholic but supports abortion and the LGBTQ movement. His late father Bob Casey, Sr. was a well-known pro-life leader and served as governor.
