CV NEWS FEED // CatholicVote President Brian Burch slammed Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. after the independent presidential candidate expressed support for full-term abortions.
“This is a massive disappointment for voters who hoped that Kennedy would stake out a truly independent position,” Burch said. “Instead, RFK just endorsed the same radical position on abortion as Joe Biden.”
Burch continued:
RFK says that ‘every abortion is a ‘tragedy,’ which makes his embrace of such an extreme position all the more problematic. The majority of all Americans, including Democrats, agree that late term abortion is barbaric.
“For this reason, both RFK and Joe Biden have disqualified themselves from all consideration for Catholic voters,” Burch said.
Kennedy made his controversial remarks on a Wednesday episode of The Sage Steele Show.
“I wouldn’t leave [abortion] to the states,” he told Steele. “I believe we should leave it to the woman.”
“Even if it’s full-term?” Steele asked the candidate.
“Even if it’s full-term,” he said.

Kennedy is a self-professed Catholic.
Late last month, his campaign released an abortion policy platform dubbed “More Choices, More Life.”
CatholicVote reported at the time:
Kennedy’s campaign claims that his proposed abortion policy “will dramatically reduce abortion in this country, and it will do so by offering more choices for women and families, not less.”
The policy clarifies that a Kennedy administration would seek to “make it easier for women to choose life.”
In order to accomplish this goal, the policy seeks to “make our society as welcoming as possible to children and to motherhood.”
