CatholicVote announced today the appointment of Kelsey Reinhardt as its new president, a transition marking a new chapter in the organization’s dynamic growth as it continues to amplify Catholic voices in American public life.
Reinhardt, who most recently served as CatholicVote’s director of media and evangelization, brings a wealth of experience in Catholic communications and lay apostolate leadership. Prior to joining CatholicVote, she served as executive director of the ACI Group — a global network of Catholic news agencies operated by EWTN News — and previously held posts with the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops and in college evangelization. A former member of the Dominican Sisters of St. Cecilia, Reinhardt combines a background in religious life with strategic media expertise.
“Kelsey Reinhardt is uniquely equipped to lead CatholicVote into its next phase,” Chairman of the Board Dave Feavel said. “Since its inception, CatholicVote has inspired American Catholics to live the truths of our faith in a culture often hostile to them — and I am incredibly grateful that Kelsey will be the one to take CatholicVote to the next level.”
A native of Wyoming, Reinhardt holds a theology degree from the University of Notre Dame — where she played guard for the Fighting Irish Women’s Basketball team — and a master’s degree in theological studies from the Augustine Institute. She is happily married to her husband, Matt.
“I could not be more excited to serve such a noble cause,” Reinhardt said. “Under Brian Burch’s fearless and Christ-centered leadership, CatholicVote has become one of the largest and most effective Catholic advocacy organizations in the country, making a difference in media, politics, law, and education.”
In comments to CatholicVote’s news team, Reinhardt said, “The energy unleashed by the election of the first American pope provides American Catholics with the historic opportunity to look at our faith with gratitude and commit to incarnate that same faith with unprecedented energy and joy in the public square.”
Reinhardt succeeds Brian Burch, CatholicVote’s founding president and co-founder, whose 17-year tenure transformed the organization from a fledgling effort into the preeminent Catholic political advocacy group in the nation.
From key judicial confirmation battles to challenging woke corporate activism and defending Catholics against federal overreach, Burch forged a powerful model for lay Catholic engagement in American civic life. A father of nine, Burch and his wife, Sara, reside outside Chicago. Pending Senate confirmation, he is slated to become the next U.S. Ambassador to the Holy See, nominated by President Donald Trump.
“Leading CatholicVote has been an immense blessing, a great joy, and a profound honor,” Burch said. “The last election made clear that Catholics have earned a seat at the civic table. Under Kelsey’s leadership, CatholicVote will continue to play a major role in shaping the culture and empowering faithful Americans to live their faith without compromise. With her missionary heart and strategic mind, she is perfectly suited to lead this next chapter.”
Effective immediately, Reinhardt has become the second president in CatholicVote’s history. Brian Burch will continue to serve as senior advisor to the organization.
