CV NEWS FEED // The Most Reverend Bernard Hebda, Archbishop of Minneapolis-St. Paul, reacted with requests for prayers in response to the news of a shooting that killed first responders in a city suburb.
“Please join me in praying for those who lost their lives in this morning’s tragic incident in Burnsville. We need to lift up as well their families and all first responders who risk their lives for our safety. John 15:13,” Archbishop Hebda published on his X account on Sunday, February 18.
According to the Associated Press, a man involved in a domestic dispute, and armed with multiple guns, shot at police officers from inside a home in Burnsville, a suburb South of Minneapolis.
Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension Superintendent Drew Evans told AP that during the morning of Sunday, February 18, the armed man, barricaded with his family, including seven children ranging in age from 2 to 15, started shooting, killing two officers and a firefighter who was providing medical aid to one of the wounded.
A third officer was wounded in the shooting.
