CV NEWS FEED // A new report shows that blue states and cities allocated over half a trillion dollars of money previously set aside for COVID relief to sustain surging numbers of migrants.
FOX News reported Wednesday that “Democrat governors and mayors earmarked at least $517 million for the programs, which generally consisted of providing cash payments to individual illegal immigrants.”
This funding “was drawn from the American Rescue Plan (ARP), the $1.9 trillion federal COVID-19 stimulus package President Biden signed into law in March 2021,” FOX stated.
Earlier this month, the Economic Policy Innovation Center (EPIC), a pro-free market think tank, released a report titled “Bidenomics Slush Fund Subsidizes ‘Undocumented’ Immigration.”
“EPIC has discovered that the Biden Administration approved $340 million in SLFRF money for cash payments to ‘undocumented’ immigrants in Washington State,” wrote EPIC Executive Vice President Brittany Madni in the report.
“Americans’ COVID relief money was used to send $1,000 checks to immigrants unlawfully residing in the State of Washington,” Madni continued:
According to [the] Treasury’s own data, the Washington COVID-19 Immigrant Relief Fund “[p]rovides a one-time cash grant to of [sic] $1,000 for each resident of Washington who are at least 18 years of age and are ineligible to receive federal economic impact payments or unemployment insurance benefits due to their immigration status.”
Madni explained that the “$340 million project is categorized as a ‘cash transfer’ expenditure under the” the Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Fund (SLFRF) “approved for the State of Washington.”
“This means the Biden Administration directly subsidized ‘undocumented’ immigration under the guise of COVID-19 pandemic relief,” she noted.
However, FOX indicated that “such a funding mechanism” was used in many other Democratic-controlled areas in addition to Washington state. FOX specifically named the states of “Illinois and New Jersey, and the cities of Washington, D.C., Chicago, Denver and Boston.”
“The jurisdictions, in particular, used funding from the ARP’s Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Fund, which was designed to help local governments recover from the pandemic,” FOX added.
>> AP: COVID FUNDS STOLEN IN ‘GREATEST GRIFT IN U.S. HISTORY’ <<
Last year, the Associated Press (AP) released a bombshell report titled “The Great Grift: How billions in COVID-19 relief aid was stolen or wasted.”
“Much of the theft was brazen, even simple,” the AP wrote:
Fraudsters used the Social Security numbers of dead people and federal prisoners to get unemployment checks. Cheaters collected those benefits in multiple states. And federal loan applicants weren’t cross-checked against a Treasury Department database that would have raised red flags about sketchy borrowers.
Criminals and gangs grabbed the money. But so did a U.S. soldier in Georgia, the pastors of a defunct church in Texas, a former state lawmaker in Missouri and a roofing contractor in Montana.
