CV NEWS FEED // The Biden administration’s Department of Justice (DOJ) on Monday unsealed its indictment against a doctor who blew the whistle on a Texas hospital that illicitly performed secret “transgender” procedures on children.
News of Dr. Eithan Haim’s indictment on four felony accounts first broke earlier this month.
“A Houston doctor has been indicted for obtaining protected individual health information for patients that were not under his care and without authorization,” the DOJ announced in a Monday press release:
The four-count indictment alleges Haim obtained personal information including patient names, treatment codes and the attending physician from Texas Children’s Hospital’s (TCH) electronic system without authorization.
The Department wrote that Haim “allegedly obtained this information under false pretenses and with intent to cause malicious harm to TCH.”
“If convicted, Haim faces up to 10 years in federal prison and a $250,000 maximum possible fine,” the DOJ stressed.

Scholar Christopher Rufo noted on X (formerly Twitter) that Haim is “facing up to 10 years in prison for telling the truth about a practice that is now illegal.”
The state of Texas outlawed subjecting minors to so-called “gender-affirming care” last year.
Texas doctor Mary Talley Bowden asked Rufo: “Where are the cowards at [TCH] who won’t speak up in [Haim’s] defense and in the defense of children?”
“It’s outrageous,” Rufo replied.
On June 6, shortly after it was announced that Biden’s DOJ indicted Haim, Rufo called the move “an outrageous political persecution” that “must be resisted.”
In a January report, CatholicVote described the moment Haim learned that he was under investigation by the Biden administration:
Dr. Eithan Haim told The Daily Wire that a pair of employees from the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) made an unannounced visit to his residence last June. It happened to coincide with his graduation from residency at Baylor College of Medicine (BCM).
“[T]here was a loud knock on Haim’s apartment door,” recounted Daily Wire investigative editor Brent Scher. The doctor said the HHS agents showed him “their badges” and told him they were “investigating a case regarding medical records.”
“It was one of those moments where time stands still,” added Haim, who is now a general surgeon.
