
CV NEWS FEED // Archbishop Timothy P. Broglio of the Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA, will celebrate the 30th annual Memorial Mass to honor those who have served in the military, especially those who have died for their country.
According to a news release from the Archdiocese, the Memorial Mass will be celebrated at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C. on May 18 at 4:30 p.m. Several Catholic military chaplains will concelebrate with Archbishop Broglio.
Prior to Mass, the Sacrament of Reconciliation will be available from 3 to 3:35 p.m. Following confessions, the Rosary will be prayed, and a musical prelude to the Mass will begin at 4:15 p.m.
According to the news release, EWTN will record the Mass and broadcast it later on Memorial Day, May 27, at 11 a.m Eastern Time.
Members of the military are additionally invited to attend a barbeque lunch from 12 to 3:30 p.m. at the St. John Paul II National Shrine.
While the Mass is open to the public, events of the day are only available to members of the military, whether active duty, retired, or on reserve.
