CV NEWS FEED // On Monday, the two-year anniversary of the Supreme Court’s repeal of Roe v. Wade, multiple pro-abortion groups announced they will be pouring money into battleground states during the 2024 election cycle.
“Two years after the US Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade and eliminated federal abortion rights, Planned Parenthood advocacy and political organizations announced they will spend $40 million during the 2024 election cycle,” stated Planned Parenthood, per CBS News Congressional Correspondent Scott MacFarlane.
KTLA reported that the eight-figure sum is an effort to “bolster President Joe Biden and leading congressional Democrats, betting that voters angry at Republican-led efforts to further restrict access to abortion can be the difference in key races around the country.”
Per KTLA, Planned Parenthood’s campaign “will initially target eight states.” These include the swing states of Arizona, Georgia, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.
The other three states on Planned Parenthood’s list include deep-red Montana – the site of a key Senate race – as well as blue New Hampshire and New York, which both have competitive down-ballot races.
“The spending plan is not an election cycle record for [Planned Parenthood],” KTLA further noted. “It spent $45 million ahead of Biden defeating Trump in 2020 and $50 million before the 2022 midterms.”
KTLA is a Los Angeles-based affiliate of The CW.
Conservative radio hostess Dana Loesch took to X (formerly Twitter) noting that Planned Parenthood’s spending spree is especially concerning given that the abortion giant receives significant taxpayer funding.
“Planned Parenthood raked in over half a billion dollars in taxpayer money per their last 22-23 annual report,” she wrote. “Why are our taxpayer dollars being used to fund Democrat campaigns? Defund Planned Parenthood NOW.”
While the crucial battleground state of Nevada was reportedly not one of the states Planned Parenthood is currently targeting, another out-of-state abortion group has set its sights there.
Nevada Independent DC correspondent Gabby Birenbaum wrote on X Monday that Think Big America, a pro-abortion group started by billionaire Democratic Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker, launched a “six-figure digital ad buy” in Nevada – also on the Dobbs anniversary.
The ad claims that the overturning of Roe has “create[d] a negative domino effect” and implies that because of the decision there is “a rise in maternal deaths” and hospitals “refus[ing] to treat women.”
On-screen text at the end of the ad states: “MAGA Extremists want to enforce a national abortion ban putting millions of lives at risk.”
Multiple experts have debunked the popular leftist talking point that pro-life laws harm or even kill women.
