CV NEWS FEED // Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) chief Elon Musk revealed Sunday that the Social Security database contains records for tens of millions of individuals over the age of 100.
Musk shared a graph on X, showing that well over 20 million people listed in the database are over a century old.
“According to the Social Security database, these are the numbers of people in each age bucket with the death field set to FALSE!” Musk said.
More than 4.7 million of the individuals listed are between the ages of 100 and 109, while millions more fall within the 110-159 age range. One entry records an individual as being between 360 and 369 years old.
In another X post, Musk wrote: “Having tens of millions of people marked in Social Security as ‘ALIVE’ when they are definitely dead is a HUGE problem. Obviously. Some of these people would have been alive before America even existed as a country.”
According to the Social Security Administration (SSA), around 73 million people received Social Security in January this year.
However, Musk’s findings suggest the total number of beneficiaries listed in the database far exceeds the 73 million actively receiving payments each month.
The total number of entries also surpasses the entire U.S. population, which stood at around 341 million at the time of the 2020 census.
Responding to criticism of DOGE’s efforts, Musk stated in a post Monday: “The REAL reason so many Democrats are upset about entitlements (social security, medical, etc) fraud investigations is that they are using your taxpayer money as handouts to attract and retain ILLEGAL immigrants. Their future voters. That’s what it’s all about.”
Musk’s discovery comes after DOGE’s recent findings in uncovering improper allocations of funds by other federal agencies.
Musk stated Feb. 10: “The DOGE team just discovered that FEMA sent $59M LAST WEEK to luxury hotels in New York City to house illegal migrants… That money is meant for American disaster relief and instead is being spent on high end hotels for illegals!”
