CV NEWS FEED // The National Eucharistic Congress has announced what it describes as a “robust” schedule of Masses, confessions, and liturgies available to participants over the five-day event.
“The National Eucharistic Congress is—at its heart—all about encountering Jesus Christ. And there’s no better place to do that than in the sacraments,” the Congress stated in an emailed news release.
Several Masses will be said every day at different times, celebrated by different cardinals, archbishops, bishops, and priests in several different languages and styles. Masses in Spanish will be available every day but July 21; a Mass in Vietnamese will be celebrated on July 19; Latin Masses and Eastern Rite liturgies will be available on several days as well.
Confessions will be heard every day for 13 hours in the Indiana Convention Center. The church of St. John the Evangelist, across the street from the Convention Center, will hold Eucharisitic adoration from 9 a.m. on July 17 to 9 a.m. on July 21. Adoration will also be a part of every Revival Session, held during the evenings of the Congress.
The Congress will also hold a Eucharistic procession on July 20 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., walking with the Blessed Sacrament through downtown Indianapolis. A group of First Communicants will lead the procession, followed by over 2,000 clergy.
