Ryan (45) and Jen Ambrosio (43) died in a fatal car accident while driving home from a date night the morning of January 6. A 35-year-old driver operating a stolen car down the wrong side of the freeway hit their vehicle. The couple died at the site of the accident from their injuries.
The couple’s funeral Mass was held Saturday, January 13.
Ryan and Jen were both faithful Catholics and active members at their parish.
According to Jen’s obituary, she “met the love of her life, Ryan Ambrosio, through mutual friends while serving as volunteer beer pourers at a charity event” and they “couldn’t wait to have a large family together.” Their children “were their world.”
“Their journey together began in the manner to which they would become known – giving of their time in service and making it unbelievably entertaining,” Ryan’s obituary read in part.:
From poker to game nights to small group, they were the life of the party and the dearest of friends. More than anything, Ryan and Jen cherished one another and devoted their marriage and their family to Christ.
Jen’s cousin Brandi Burke organized the GoFundMe page on behalf of the couple’s children.
The page states:
The greatest impact of this tragedy is (and will continue to be) on their six young children: Amelia, Maria Grace, Faustina, Benedict, Raphael, and Julian. Ranging in age from 2-9 years old, they now have to navigate life’s ups and downs without their parents by their side.
As of January 19, the fundraiser had raised over $640,000.
An update on the page includes an assurance from Burke that the children “have always had the presence and support of a large extended family that will ensure they are raised together in a safe and loving home.”
