CV NEWS FEED // After the well-known site Catholic Answers discontinued its Q&A forums, an apologist started a new ministry called Catholic Questions to provide people with “personal, confidential” answers to their questions about the faith.
A Catholic freelance apologist, author, and speaker, Jim Blackburn had previously worked as the supervisor of Catholic Answers’ Q&A department, which was discontinued in 2020. Blackburn decided that people—both Catholics and non-Catholics—still needed a place to ask their questions about the faith, and founded Catholic Questions the same year.
“I started Catholics Questions to ensure that people continued to have a resource for personal, confidential assistance with their questions about the Catholic faith,” Blackburn told the Catholic Stand in a recent interview.
Blackburn added that Catholic Questions is not affiliated with Catholics Answers, but that the two ministries are “close friends.”
According to the Catholic Questions website, the purpose of the ministry is also to provide “one-on-one apologetics” for a personal and rational encounter with Catholicism. Blackburn said that the ministry has seven apologists answering every question that they receive.
“We strive to answer every question we receive within one to two days,” he said. “Sometimes we are able to answer questions on the day we receive them! … we have never failed to answer a question (as far as we know).”
