CV NEWS FEED // A boy who says he is a girl won an Irish dance competition for girls under 14 in Dallas on Sunday.
According to The Daily Signal’s Mary Margaret Olohan, the boy “is heading to the Irish Dancing World Championships after placing first in the U14 2023 Southern Region Oireachtas competitions.”
Olohan also noted that the male dancer “formerly competed as a boy and placed 11th in the world in the Coimisiún Le Rincí Gaelacha (CLRG) World Championships in April 2023.”
“It’s going to make me cry,” said the mother of a girl who competed against the victorious boy:
I never thought I was going to have to deal with this. And my heart breaks for my daughter and the other girls that are having to deal with this. They are too young to have to deal with topics that are going on in society, that are adult topics, that they don’t quite comprehend yet.
They just look at it as unfair. And it’s really hard to explain to them what’s going on and why they have to accept it. That’s what society’s making them do. As a mom, I want to be an advocate for my daughter. But at the same time, I have to protect my family.
“[Parents] are absolutely outraged,” another competitor’s parent told The Daily Signal. “It’s absolutely ridiculous, just like in any other sport, and we’re seeing it play out on the national stage in the congressional hearings this week.”

At a House Oversight subcommittee hearing on Tuesday, retired collegiate swimmer Riley Gaines stated: “Across the country and in various sports, males are entering women’s athletic competitions, being given spots on women’s teams, and being granted entry to our locker rooms.”
“Common-sense Americans know intuitively that this is not fair to women,” Gaines said.
Women’s sports advocate Kim Shasby Jones took to X (formerly Twitter) to list the more-than-a-dozen sports in which males identifying as “transgender” won national titles in women’s competitions.
“It’s out of control people,” Jones wrote. “Every single one of these men has stripped a woman of opportunities and publicly declared that women don’t deserve fair treatment by competing.”
“Get the men OUT now,” she went on. “It is insane that we are doing this to women and girls.”
