CV NEWS FEED // Spring rallies for pro-life advocacy organization 40 Days for Life are kicking off across the United States in the days before Lent begins on February 14.
40 Days for Life is an “internationally coordinated 40-day campaign” focused on ending abortion through prayer, fasting, and peaceful protests outside abortion facilities. Over the course of 40 days, pro-life witnesses take turns standing outside abortion facilities to create a 960-hour chain of peaceful protest.
Since 2007, 40 Days for Life has saved over 24,000 lives and closed 148 abortion facilities through countless 40-day campaigns. The 2024 Spring Campaign begins nationally on February 14, the same day that Lent starts, and runs for 40 days until March 24.
Ahead of the national kickoff date, several individual locations throughout the U.S. are hosting their own kickoff rallies between February 10 and February 13. Each participating location will feature pro-life speakers, prayer, and the opportunity to be a witness to life.
“Those who are called to stand witness during this 24-hour-a-day presence send a powerful message to the community about the tragic reality of abortion,” the 40 Days for Life website states.
The website added that the protest lasts for 40 days because “40 days is a timeframe God consistently uses throughout salvation history to transform His people.”
