CV NEWS FEED // Word on Fire is once again calling on the faithful to join its rosary initiative this month for the intention that fallen-away Catholics might return to the faith.
In a May 1 social media video announcing the initiative, Bishop Robert Barron of the Winona-Rochester Diocese in Minnesota noted the Church’s particular focus on the Blessed Virgin Mary during the month of May.
He explained that for May, the Catholic media platform would carry on its tradition of praying 50,000 rosaries for the intention of those who have fallen away from their faith.
In May 2023, Word On Fire invited Catholics to pray the rosary with them for this intention, setting an original goal of 10,000 rosaries.
However, the goal was reached in 48 hours, the Bishop said, and by the end of the month, the platform had logged some 64,000 rosaries.
This year, Barron said Word on Fire is inviting the faithful to help them to first reach 50,000 rosaries. However, he added: “our hope is to get to 100,000 rosaries.”
“So let’s do it,” he concluded: “let’s pray up a storm this year.”
Those who wish to join the initiative may log their rosary on the Word on Fire website, where a live count is displayed, along with a map of the world with red pinpoints designating where rosaries have been prayed so far.
As of the time of the publication of this article, 12,596 rosaries have been prayed since the start of the initiative.
