CV NEWS FEED // A woman who underwent “sex change” surgeries and hormone treatment to “transition” into a man is now suing the therapists, doctors, and medical facilities who misled her into the gruesome experiment while she was in a vulnerable state.
Prisha (Abigail) Mosley began her “transition” at 16 following a series of traumatic experiences. Mosley was sexually assaulted at 14, became pregnant, and subsequently lost her child.
At ages 15 and 16, Moseley was hospitalized for depression and self-harm. She was diagnosed at this time with major depressive disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and an eating disorder.
“Starting when I was 16 years old, and continuing into my teen and young adult years, doctors and counselors set me on a path of medicalized ‘gender transition,’” Mosley wrote in a Fox News op-ed. “They told me that changing my body to look like a boy’s body would cure my mental health problems.”
Mosley claims medical professionals and “trans” activists manipulated her into thinking the process would resolve her traumas and the identity issues that resulted from them.
“One of the core features of one of the issues I have is the lack of identity,” Moseley told a Fox News reporter in an interview. “When I found the trans community and found a new identity, I was affirmed—and everything was very affirming—that was what caused me to transition.”
She now says if doctors had treated her for the core mental health issues she had as a teenager instead of falsely diagnosing her with gender dysphoria, she might have found her true identity without being irreparably harmed.
Mosley also criticized the proliferation of children’s books promoting transgender ideology, calling it “predatory.” This “language is so confusing and so strange and nuanced for [children]. It’s just going to cause confusion,” she said.
According to an in-depth report by the Independent Women’s Forum, Mosley’s life in the process of detransitioning has proved difficult. Mosley suffers from severe physical side effects from her double mastectomy and hormone treatments, which may prevent her from having sex or conceiving a child in the future.
“The trans community tells you to kill your old self,” Mosley told the outlet. “I literally feel like I killed a child, and it was me.”
