A federal appeals court in Texas has upheld legislation that bans most abortions after 20 weeks in the state.
In its ruling, the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals rejected the lower court’s reasoning that the law posed an “undue burden” on the rights of Texas women seeking abortions.
The Texas legislature passed the law late last year despite the high-profile efforts of state senator Wendy Davis to prevent it.
