There is no joke about repressive angry religious people. Instead there are real, normal people who we have all seen at Mass: The not-so-great organist. The over-eager singer. The reader who doesn’t want to be there and the one who “really really does.”
The video pokes gentle fun at the human foibles on display at a typical suburban Catholic parish, even noticing a couple of phenomenon we rarely put in words: “The softest pastor joke followed by the softest parishioner laugh” and the mystery of rectory living.
