The Vatican has begun updating its website for the first time since it was created 30 years ago.
“Welcome to the institutional website of the Holy See!” the website states. “We are currently updating our website’s design to offer you an even better browsing experience. Some sections may still be undergoing updates. Thank you for your patience as we complete this work.”
The website’s front page now features an image of Pope Leo XIV as the website header, a user-friendly search bar and drop-down menu at the top of the page, and a link to the Magisterium page, which includes the homilies, audiences, and speeches of the Holy Father.
The front page also includes a link to news and the Vatican calendar.
At the bottom of the front page of the updated Vatican website, viewers can access the Bible, the Catechism of the Catholic Church, Codes of Canon law, and the Church’s response to the abuse of minors.
Previously, the website was outdated and more difficult to navigate, with a beige background and a small type font.
