CV NEWS FEED // Vice President JD Vance will meet with Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin in Rome this weekend, according to an April 16 White House press release.
The meeting is one of the confirmed stops during the trip Vance will make with his family through Italy and India April 18-24. The press release did not provide any information on what the meeting with Cardinal Parolin will focus on. It is unclear whether Vance will have an audience with Pope Francis during his visit to the Vatican.
In Italy, Vance will also meet with Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, and in India, he will meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“The Vice President will discuss shared economic and geopolitical priorities with leaders in each country,” the release stated.
The White House also stated that while in India, Vance and his family will visit New Delhi, Jaipur, and Agra, and “participate in engagements at cultural sites.”
