CV NEWS FEED // The Ukrainian Catholic University announced it has begun a free, six-month-long online IT course for veterans of the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine.
In partnership with the international IT company ELEKS, which provides software development and consulting services, Ukrainian Catholic University said it will begin offering its online course, titled, “Returning from War: First Steps in IT,” according to an April 28 Odessa Journal report.
In a recent LinkedIn post, the University stated that over 20 veterans and military personnel from across the country have participated in the program so far.
“We take immense pride in the accomplishments of our graduates,” the University stated in the post. “Moving forward, we are eager to forge connections with IT companies to facilitate potential internship opportunities for these talented individuals.”
The program will include courses in Project Management, Business Analysis, Frontend Development, Understanding Backend, Data Science, Introduction to DevOps, and Software Testing.
The University previously announced in January that it would be creating its Office for Affairs of Veterans and Their Families to provide support for soldiers returning from the war.
“Our task is to create programs to foster the integration of veterans back into civilian life,” the University’s Rector Taras Dobko stated at the time. “After returning from the frontlines, our defenders deserve not only to lead a full-fledged peaceful life but also to take responsibility for the community and become leaders in society.”
