CV NEWS FEED // Emboldened by the prospect of a supportive Trump administration, Students for Life (SFL) Action released a strategic plan November 12 to tackle pro-abortion legislation across the U.S.
SFL Action President Kristan Hawkins unveiled the “Make America Pro-Life Again” roadmap during a virtual meeting and outlined the pro-life organization’s plan. According to Fox News, the roadmap focuses on “appointing pro-life officials to federal agencies … releasing pro-life activists imprisoned under the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act, completely defunding Planned Parenthood, and [investigating] the harmful chemicals used by chemical abortion pills.”
The roadmap also includes a legislative package containing a slew of challenges to several pro-abortion laws across the country.
“We have a siege engine ready for these legal walls that we’ll face at some state legislatures and legislative levels and also the federal level,” Hawkins said, according to The Hill. “Even if your state has said abortion is now constitutionally protected, that doesn’t mean every action of abortion, every type of abortion.”
According to a SFL Action news release, the package “will work in concert with our legal and cultural pursuits to limit and eliminate a method and means of deadly abortion shown to be a risk to both mother and child – something that state and federal governments can still address, even with abortion enshrined in some state constitutions.”
SFL Action is especially concerned with chemical abortions and the contaminants resulting from the use of chemical abortion pills. CatholicVote previously reported that Students for Life of America filed an amicus brief in the Supreme Court case Food and Drug Administration v. Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine in February, calling for the court to consider the impacts of sending toxic chemicals and human remains into the sewer system and environment.
SFL Action also hopes that Trump’s pro-life tendencies will support its plan to tackle abortions in America, stating in a news release that his campaign “focused on the abuses of weaponized government as well as … common-sense policies, such as clean water.”
“Addressing the abuse of federal power with prejudice for abortion and against pro-life Americans allows for a lot of policy options,” Hawkins stated in the news release. “Three Democratic Party Presidents manipulated Chemical Abortion Pill policies, fast-tracking approval, deregulating them despite the known dangers, and ignoring abortion water pollution. One President can fix it, as everyone wants crystal clear water, free of pathological waste.”
Hawkins later added, “President-Elect Trump, we’ve got your back.”
