Seven Weeks Coffee
A Christian coffee company that donates 10% of every sale to pro-life organizations has officially donated $1 million, a milestone reached within 3.5 years of the company’s founding.
Seven Weeks Coffee, founded by husband-and-wife team Anton and Christa Krecic in November 2021, announced that it met this donation threshold in a recent emailed press release. The pro-life company’s name is inspired by the fact that when an unborn child is seven weeks along, he or she is about the size of a coffee bean. Through its efforts to live out pro-life values, the company has donated to more than 1,000 pregnancy resource organizations spanning across all 50 states. The list of organizations they have donated to is here.
Anton was inspired to found the company after he moved to Washington, D.C., in 2019 to pursue a career in politics. He states on the Seven Weeks Coffee website that “two things became obvious: Godly principles were lacking on both sides of the aisle, and many organizations were putting profits before people.” He decided to found a coffee company that strives to reverse this trend by supporting the most vulnerable.
Krecic noted in the release that when he founded the company, some people were skeptical that a values-based approach company would have a strong customer base. The company was also founded without outside investors. But, in less than four years, the company has served more than 100,000 customers from around the US, and it continues to donate 10% of all sales to pro-life organizations.
“We are so blessed to have gone on this journey with our customers, raising money for pro-life causes,” he said. “Consumers respond when a brand matches their values.”
According to the release, Seven Weeks Coffee uses all direct trade, working directly with the farmers who grow the coffee beans. The website states that the company also pays farmers 300% more than what is required by fair trade regulations.
The webpage also includes several statements from pregnancy resource centers that have partnered with Seven Weeks Coffee, such as the Georgia-based Pregnant Choices Medical Clinic.
“What a blessing to have businesses like these who understand the sanctity of life and give us the opportunity to protect the vulnerable with our every-day purchases,” the Pregnant Choices Medical Clinic stated, adding that a grant from Seven Weeks “will help us provide long-term support to our moms, long after the first appointment.”
The New York-based Alpha Pregnancy Care Center stated that the partnership “has allowed us to be able to stay true to our vision: To help any and every person facing an unplanned pregnancy by being a welcoming refuge where solutions, services, and support are provided.”
