The Senate permanent subcommittee on investigations – a division of the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs committee – will conduct a hearing Wednesday focused on “the corruption of science and federal health agencies,” and, specifically, the suppression and cover-up of myocarditis and other adverse events tied to the COVID mRNA shots.
According to a report at TrialSite News, Republican Sen. Ron Johnson of Wisconsin will lead the inquiry into actions by officials at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and the National Institutes of Health (NIH) after the outbreak of COVID-19.
The hearing “marks one of the most direct and public confrontations between the U.S. Senate and federal health agencies over alleged scientific misconduct during the COVID-19 pandemic,” the report noted.
A statement reported by Johnson’s office described the focus of the inquiry as “how senior officials at the CDC, FDA, and NIH systematically downplayed, ignored, or concealed data related to serious vaccine-associated harms, particularly myocarditis in young males, despite mounting internal and external evidence.”
Various medical experts, analysts, and vaccine safety whistleblowers are expected to testify, including Dr. Peter McCullough, president of the McCullough Foundation, Dr. James Thorp, OB/GYN, Aaron Siri, managing partner of law firm Siri & Glimstad, L.L.P., Dr. Jordan Vaughn, president of the Microvascular Research Foundation, Dr. Joel Wallskog, co-chairman of REACT 19, and Dr. Josh Green, governor of Hawaii.
Those testifying have challenged the transparency of federal health databases such as the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) and the CDC’s V-safe system.
According to TrialSite News, Johnson, who has been conducting hearings on the federal government’s actions in response to COVID since 2020, said the inquiry “will expose how the government sacrificed scientific integrity in service of pharmaceutical expediency.”
During the hearing, “leaked emails, redacted safety surveillance data, and internal memos reportedly documenting delayed risk communication will be entered into the public record,” the report said.
The inquiry comes as officials at the Trump Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and its subagencies have decried federal health agencies’ loss of public trust following alleged collusion with the pharmaceutical industry in the months after the outbreak of COVID-19.
In a post at his column The Focal Points, McCullough, a cardiologist and champion of early treatment for COVID-19, wrote that his foundation “has relentlessly pursued the truth on COVID-19 vaccine injuries, disabilities, and death.”
“Many have been attributed to mRNA vaccine myocarditis,” he asserted.
In his most recent column posted Tuesday, McCullough noted he has “many patients with abnormal heart beats (palpitations) or heart rhythm abnormalities after COVID-19 vaccination. The most dangerous of all cardiac rhythms are ventricular tachycardia and ventricular fibrillation because they can lead to cardiac arrest.”
“Because the COVID-19 vaccines deposit mRNA and Spike protein in the heart which causes inflammation (myocarditis) it is not difficult to conclude that abnormalities in heart rhythm occur as a result of heart muscle inflammation,” he explained. “This is the case with other causes of myocarditis before the pandemic.”
In January, Johnson posted to the X platform that he had subpoenaed HHS “for records and data previously withheld by the Biden administration relating to the pandemic and COVID-19 vaccine safety — including [Dr. Anthony] Fauci’s emails.”
“It is well past time to bring accountability and transparency back to our U.S. health agencies,” the senator wrote.
