CV NEWS FEED // Less than one month into his second term, President Donald Trump has already made decisive moves to reverse the previous administration’s abortion-related policies, drawing praise from leading pro-life advocates.
Marjorie Dannenfelser, president of Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America, described Trump’s early actions as ushering in a “golden age” for the pro-life movement, marking a stark departure from the Biden administration’s approach.
“When it comes to protecting life, the first of all our rights, he is moving swiftly to deliver,” Dannenfelser wrote in a Feb. 14 op-ed for The Hill.
Among the administration’s first actions was the removal of a government website created under the Biden administration’s Health and Human Services Department that facilitated getting abortions. Trump also withdrew the United States from the World Health Organization, citing the agency’s role in promoting abortion without any restriction.
Fulfilling a campaign promise, Trump also pardoned 23 individuals imprisoned for peacefully protesting abortion.

Dannenfelser also noted that Trump has taken steps to challenge radical Democratic abortion policies in Congress. He has been outspoken against late-term abortion and infanticide, backing legislation requiring life-saving medical care for babies who survive failed abortions, a bill which Democrats blocked in the Senate.
The White House formally issued a statement of support for the bill, signaling hope among pro-life advocates that such legislation could soon become law, according to Dannenfelser.

Trump has reinstated several key pro-life policies, including the Hyde Amendment, which ensures that federal tax dollars do not fund abortion services. He also restored the Global Protect Life Policy, which redirects U.S. foreign aid away from organizations that promote or perform abortions, such as International Planned Parenthood Federation.
Additionally, the administration rejoined the Geneva Consensus Declaration, reaffirming the United States’ position that there is no international right to abortion and supporting nations seeking to strengthen protections for unborn children and women.
“In short, this is a big deal,” Dannenfelser noted. “Biden and Harris spent four years turning the U.S. into a global exporter of abortion on demand. That ends now.”
The administration has also announced the end of Biden’s abortion travel policy in the Department of Defense, which had provided taxpayer-funded travel for abortion procedures.
“[I]nstead of a federal government weaponized to expand abortion and silence dissent, we look forward to one that works for mothers and children, not against them,” Dannenfeser wrote. “Thank you, President Trump, and let the golden age for life begin.”
