CV NEWS FEED // Mark Houck will attend President Joe Biden’s third State of the Union address on Tuesday night, the pro-life leader revealed in a soon-to-be-released interview with CatholicVote’s LOOPcast.
Houck told LOOPcast co-host Erika Ahern that Congressman Scott Perry, R-PA, extended the invitation late last week.
“I asked him why, why me?” Houck said. “And they told me that I’m the face of the weaponization of the government.”
Dramatic FBI Raid
On September 23, 2022, the FBI stormed Houck’s home, arresting him at gunpoint in front of his wife and seven young children. Houck recounted the harrowing events of that day during his interview with Ahern.
The Biden Justice Department accused Houck of violating the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act. He was found not guilty last week of violating federal law by shoving a “clinic escort” outside of a Planned Parenthood in 2021.
Ahern asked, “What comes next for the Houck family?” Houck confirmed rumors that he would be at the State of the Union with his wife, Ryan-Marie.
“I know I’m gonna be a political pawn,” he remarked. “But I’m okay with that. God’s using me in this way, and light needs to be shed on this dark place.”
Next Steps
Houck confirmed that he will be involved in Republican efforts to investigate the apparent targeting of pro-life activists under the FACE Act.
“We have an interview with the Judiciary Committee on February 22nd. That’s in advance of a potential hearing before the subcommittee that Congressman Jim Jordan is chairing… that’s going to begin the process of investigating all of this. Hopefully my testimony will be a benefit and bless others.”
The entire interview will be featured on this week’s LOOPcast episode.
