CV NEWS FEED // Even though the fruits of pro-lifers’ prayers for expectant mothers in need around the world often go unseen, victories happen every day, an executive of pregnancy help organization Heartbeat International shared in a recent article.
In the contentious debate of abortion, a lot of attention goes toward politics and policies, Andrea Trudden, the organization’s vice president of communication and marketing, wrote in an April 8 Pregnancy Help News article. But past this focus — which many headlines center around — a quieter story is unfolding through the help of pro-life pregnancy organizations, she wrote.
Heartbeat International manages the Abortion Pill Rescue Network (APRN), a 24/7 hotline that can connect women with help to reverse their chemical abortions. Trudden explained that the work done by APRN and other pro-life organizations involves a difficult reality: the effects of the work are “not always immediately visible.”
According to Trudden, it is difficult for these organizations to rarely learn whether the women they support choose life or proceed with an abortion.
“But occasionally,” she wrote, “we receive a glimpse of the impact of trusting God with every mother we serve.”
Trudden explained that APRN recently received a message of gratitude from a woman who reached out for assistance in 2023.
“This month marks two years since I contacted your hotline,” her message read. “I’m laying here with my 16-month-old who I literally cannot imagine life without, and I just need to express my immense gratitude for what you all do.”
Trudden wrote that the center’s compassionate care and trust in God are reflected in the testimonies of women like this who chose life after receiving support from the organization.
“These quiet victories may not make the news, but they are happening every day,” Trudden wrote. “They remind us that while we may not always see the immediate results of our efforts, lives are being changed.”
Trudden encouraged the American people to move beyond political debates and consider real-life solutions, noting that pregnancy care centers provide a lifeline to women and a path to life for the unborn, offering them love and support.
“This is why pregnancy help matters,” she wrote. “It is not about judgment or coercion; it’s about walking alongside women in their most vulnerable moments and giving them the resources and encouragement to see another way forward.”
