Pope Francis has asked for prayer.
And CatholicVote wants to do our part.
The Holy Father’s exact words: “I entrust you all to the intercession of Mary, and I ask you to pray for me.”
Whatever the condition of our Holy Father, I am asking every member of the CV family to join us in prayer for the Holy Father, for his comfort, bodily nourishment, spiritual strength, and for the whole Church.
I was struck by a comment this morning on CV’s article about the pope’s fragile health:
“Thank you for sharing this journey with us, one that we will all make, hopefully with the same grace and confidence.” — Randal A.
Randal’s comment was a great reminder. CatholicVote has built a national (even global) community. CV is not just me, or Brian, our staff, volunteers, LOOP readers, or friends. We have always sought to be a voice for Catholics everywhere that love our Church – in and out of season – who genuinely desire to transform the world in Christ.
The pope is the Vicar of Christ on earth.
The Servant of the servants of God.
This moment is not simply a news event, but a moment to unite with Catholics everywhere in praying not only for bodily healing, but for the spiritual riches that come through suffering, and that the Holy Spirit might give him – and all of us – the strength to endure in the pilgrimage of life.
As we wait in vigil with Pope Francis, I simply ask that you join CV readers and supporters everywhere to pray.
We entrust the life of our Holy Father to the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary in his time of need.
1,000,000 Catholics praying for Pope Francis.
Oremus pro Pontifice.
Thy will be done.
