CV NEWS FEED // The Diocese of Scranton, Pennsylvania, has announced the theme for its annual Catholic men’s conference, focusing this year on “Come Follow Me.”
According to a diocesan news release, this year’s “Be a Catholic Man” conference is the ninth for the diocese. It will be held on October 5 at Holy Redeemer High School in Wilkes-Barre.
“In today’s busy, high-tech world, there are few opportunities where men can take time to reflect on how to better imitate Jesus’ heroic love,” the Diocese stated in the news release. “The annual Men’s conference provides an opportunity to put away cell phones and iPads and be inspired to go further in imitation of Christ for the sake not only of oneself, but for loved ones.”
Speakers at the half-day event will include EWTN hosts Deacon Harold Burke-Sivers and Father Bill Casey, as well as John Edwards, the host of the “Just a Guy in the Pew” podcast.
In addition to the talks, attendees will have opportunities for Eucharistic adoration, a Rosary, confession, and a closing Mass celebrated by Scranton Bishop Joseph C. Bambera.
Registration for the conference is currently open online, with a discount for students and free admission for priests, deacons, and seminarians.
