In her new book “Target Africa: Ideological Neocolonialism in the Twenty-First Century,” Obianuju Ekeocha shines a spotlight on progressive donors and governments who are aggressively trying to undermine African cultural beliefs about sex, marriage, and abortion.
These powerful Western interests push dangerous contraceptives on young girls, turn a blind eye to deadly and illegal abortion mills, and even try to hypersexualize African children through “comprehensive sex education.” And when Ekeocha, a Nigerian, questions them? They tell her to sit down and be quiet; they know better than Africans. That is neocolonialism.
Stephen talks with Ekoecha about what she’s doing to fight back!
