CV NEWS FEED // This week the Marriage Initiative released the theme for this week’s National Marriage Week, dedicated to celebrating the beauty and sanctity of marriage.
In a press release, the Marriage Institute, an organization founded to promote traditional family and marriage values announced that the theme for this year’s marriage week is “Love Beyond Words”. The theme is intended to encourage couples to make their love visible and help the world recognize the profound impact that a strong marriage can have on the world.
Every year, National Marriage week is celebrated from February 7th through the 14th in the week leading up to Valentine’s day, which this year falls on Ash Wednesday. Organizers say it is the perfect time to recognize the beauty of marriage as couples prepare to celebrate Valentines day.
Leaders say that the week offers the opportunity for couples to celebrate the beauty of marriage and the gift that it is.
“Marriage is something wonderful to be celebrated. The whole idea is to help people celebrate, to help our society value marriage, and then support marriages by providing them with resources to become more successful in their marital journey. You don’t have to come from a happy home to create one,” said Arlene Pellicane, a spokesperson for the Marriage Institute.
National Marriage Week has occurred since 1996 when it was started in the UK to help raise awareness about the beauty of marriage. During the week, the Marriage Institute releases a variety of resources that helps couples to deepen their relationship and encourages them to be witnesses to the beauty of marriage.
