CV NEWS FEED // Pilgrims following the western St. Junipero Serra route of the National Eucharistic Pilgrimage accompanied Jesus in the Eucharist over an emblematic Colorado mountain in the Rockies after the Pilgrimage entered the Archdiocese of Denver this week.
The National Eucharistic Pilgrimage arrived in the Archdiocese on June 5 and will continue on through participating churches before it departs for its next stop on June 12.
According to a June 6 article in Denver Catholic, the Pilgrimage stopped at several parishes where the local faithful prayed, attended Adoration on the evening of June 5, and, on June 6, attended Mass.
“In the spirit of St. Junípero Serra, the Franciscan missionary known for his evangelical travels across the western United States for whom the western route of the National Eucharistic Pilgrimage is named, parishioners walked with Jesus through their community and up Emerald Mountain,” Denver Catholic reported.
After the procession on the mountain, the Pilgrimage moved to the town of Boulder, where it stopped at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Parish.
On June 7, the pilgrims attended Mass at St. Thomas Aquinas Parish before the Pilgrimage continued on to stops at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Arvada and the Augustine Institute in Greenwood Village.
According to the Archdiocese of Denver events calendar for the National Eucharistic Pilgrimage, on the evening of June 7 the Augustine Institute will give a talk, followed by Eucharistic Adoration, at Light of the World Catholic Church.
On June 8, the Pilgrimage will go to Holy Protection of the Mother of God Byzantine Catholic Church, where Divine Liturgy will be celebrated. A reception will follow.
