CV NEWS FEED// The Perpetual Pilgrims of the National Eucharistic Pilgrimage are spending their final days of pilgrimage together as they head to the National Eucharistic Congress.
The pilgrims will all arrive at St. John the Evangelist Church in downtown Indianapolis on the morning of Tuesday, July 16th. Media are asked to take photos only outside of the church, so the pilgrims can pray quietly inside.
Thousands of locals joined the pilgrims at various stops along the four routes during the pilgrimage’s last week.
The Marian Route celebrated Independence Day alongside Relevant Radio with thousands of people attending, and then joined locals for the world premiere of the musical, “Behold God’s Love: A Eucharistic Miracle” at the University of Notre Dame. The musical was inspired by medieval mystery plays, which were performed in Europe for the feast of Corpus Christi.
The St. Elizabeth Ann Seton pilgrims celebrated with thousands in downtown Cincinnati in a Eucharistic festival, “Jesus is Here: A Day with the Eucharist.”
On the St. Juan Diego route, pilgrims walked 3.5 miles in a Eucharistic procession alongside local Catholics, one of whom was 73 years old and walked the entire procession.
The St. Junipero Serra pilgrims joined thousands of Catholics to celebrate mass at the Cathedral Basilica in St. Louis.
