CV NEWS FEED // Muslim terrorists have killed at least 150 Nigerians in several attacks since December 23 and specifically targeted numerous Christian villages and homes on Christmas Eve.
Truth Nigeria reported that terrorists began attacking Christians homes in the village of Gwana in Central Plateau State at 10 p.m. (local time) on December 23. Though a small group was finishing evening devotions, the majority of villagers were sleeping when the terrorists opened fire. According to a local pastor, the villagers that remained in their houses instead of fleeing were killed.
County Chairman Monday Kassah said that at least 16 people were killed in Gwana.
“We cannot say exactly why this attack was carried out but the victims are exclusively members of one ethnic group,” Kassah told Truth Nigeria. The group happens to be Christian.
According to Truth Nigeria, the terrorists have been linked to the Fulani tribe, a predominantly Muslim nomadic group that holds significant political power.
“The attacks, believed to be driven by land grab and ethnic displacements, have forced thousands of residents to evacuate their homes amidst intense gunfire by terrorists speaking the Fulani dialect, according to eyewitnesses,” Truth Nigeria reported.
Truth Nigeria added that in the first half of 2023 alone, “Fulani-linked attacks resulted in the deaths of over 2500 Christians in Nigeria.”
On Christmas Eve, the terrorists opened fire again and began burning houses in several other villages in Central Plateau State, specifically targeting “non-Muslim ethnic groups.”
The next day, several Christians were still fleeing from the terrorists and at least 20 people were confirmed dead.
According to Chairman Kassah, the current death toll in the state is 150 as of December 26, with 500 wounded.
